We’re Not Worthy!!! (well, maybe we are)

Do you have visions of Dana Carvey & Mike Myers decked out in their Wayne’s World garb bowing down to Alice Cooper? Well, let go of that image for a moment to think about that phrase & feeling….

We, as women, are amazing creatures. We keep up with schedules, homes, friends, children, husbands, parents, siblings, meal-planning, talent-developing, hobby-pursuing, and myriad other tasks.  So, why, at the end of the day, do we wonder what we have to show for the past twenty-four hours?  Why, when someone gives us a compliment do we turn it around back to them or at least self-talk ourselves out of believing it?  Why, when we look in the mirror do we see the imperfections (a pimple, a splotch, or an oh-so-slight hint of grey) rather than the beautiful women we are?

An amazing friend of mine once said to me something like, “Karin, you are worthy.”  I was dumbfounded at her statement.  She had learned that phrase several years before she shared it with me, and I have reflected on it for years since.  Worthy doesn’t mean perfect, but, in fact, I have come to learn (and still try to remind myself) that we are worthy of love (both loving ourselves and receiving love from others), we are worthy of living and enjoying life, and we are worthy of being happy.

So, instead of bowing down to whatever challenge or feeling of self-doubt is before you, picture good old Wayne and Garth, laugh a little, and then remind yourself, “I am worthy!”  Shout it to the world.  You are loved.  You are amazing.  You are worthy!
