Love is Here to Stay

One of the most amazing things about being a grandmother is to hear stories about your grandchildren. I received one of those calls recently. My 3-year-old grandson had a long Saturday, lots of things happening with his parents and he was busy in activities all his own. When they drove back into their driveway at home, he started to cry. His mother asked “Why are you crying?” My grandson’s response was that he was not supposed to be home, he was supposed to be at FarMor’s (grandma’s) house.

To be loved by a child is the most remarkable gift! There is no holding back. No back biting or ulterior motives. No expectations, they don’t even ask that you love them in return. It is a perfect love!

I am troubled by the world view of “dog eat dog.” I am troubled that as women, we have bought into gossip and taking away from our fellow sisters instead of lifting and building one another. I have become aware of situations where just a phone call would have made all the difference in the world.

Come on, ladies and gentlemen. Let’s empower one another! We empower each other when we listen to the words the other person speaks instead of trying to decide what we will say next. It is about not interrupting; giving time when it is not convenient. Mostly, though, it is accepting each other as we are, flaws and all, and loving one another as a little child loves.

What kind of world would this be if we all gave unconditional love asking nothing in return? Empower someone today by sharing your love. Love is here to stay!
