The Best Things Are Happenning
Recently, I was speaking with one of my sisters. She was half-way across the country with some relationship troubles. As we laughed, talked, and smiled across the miles, I blurted out a piece of wisdom that I have since pondered. I told her to stop stressing and trust that the best things are happening.
Since speaking with her, I have taken moments to reflect on those words: the best things are happening. I, at that moment, was also experiencing somewhat of a crisis with our baby’s health. I continued to reflect on that statement during the dark hours when I felt I could sink into the abyss of sorrow and uncertainty before me. Like an echo, my words bounced back across the miles: “the best things are happening.”
I firmly believe that if we are doing the best that we can, fully engaging in life, in healthy relationships, and in faith, that the things that happen to us will be refining, that they will build us to into the higher beings we are made to become, and we will experience true peace and joy in this life.
What are the best things that are happening to you?

My husband and I just visited New England and saw the leaves beginning to turn. It was glorious! Yesterday, the sky was a beautiful brilliant blue and filled with groups of billowy clouds. As we drove to the airport, I was taking pictures of the leaves, magnificent oranges and yellows, rich burgundy and light green. We even passed a tree dressed in vibrant purple. The day was crisp and we spent most of the morning outside. It was a best thing happening to me.

The evening is upon me and I feel refreshed to know the day has been a success. I find the following quote from Frank Lloyd Wright to be true:
“I know the price of success: dedication, hard work, and an unremitting devotion to the things you want to see happen.”
